The Mammoth Meiner (Mammoth, CA)
Design, full renovation and short term rental management, Mammoth Lakes, California.
The Mammoth Miner is a fully-reimagined mountain condo in Mammoth Lakes, California, transformed from a cold, outdated, drafty unit into a market-beating Airbnb with a 4.96 rating and 125+ reviews.
I led the full redesign and executed much of the work myself, including the custom floating cypress kitchen shelf with recessed LED lighting, and brought in contractors for electrical, flooring, and specialized tasks.
Upgrades included a brand-new kitchen with a handmade tile backsplash, a all new appliances, new flooring and carpet, new windows, insulation and air-sealing, and a custom reclaimed-wood ceiling, sourced from old growth deadfall fir trees.
The energy-efficiency improvements including mini-split, insulation and pellet stove reduced electric bills from nearly $1,000 per month to around $150.
With fresh furniture, bedding, and a cohesive mountain-modern design, the Mammoth Miner consistently outperforms the local STR market, generating roughly $70,000 per year in gross revenue.
